Antique Black Powder Frame Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Holster Attributed to Hollywood Actor Gene Barry for the Television Series "Bat Masterson"Frame manufactured in 1894. According to an undated letter signed by purported Hollywood gun coach and trick shooter Johnny Thunder, this Colt SAA and included Arvo Ojala holster were used by actor Gene Barry (1919-2009) in the television series "Bat Masterson" (1958-1961). The production studios rented this gun from the costume and prop company Stembridge. The frame has the letter "S," which indicated Stembridge, stamped above the serial number. The back of the holster is stamped "STEMBRIDGE/GUN RENTALS." With the exception of matching serial numbers on the frame and trigger guard and illegible back strap number, the revolver lacks Colt markings. Fitted with Franzite plastic "stag" grips. Comes with a "Bat Masterson" comic book featuring Gene Barry in character holding a SAA on the cover. Barry was notable for his leading roles in the films "The Atomic City" (1952) and "The War of The Worlds" (1953) and his portrayal of the title characters in the TV series "Bat Masterson" and "Burke's Law" (1963-1966; revival series 1994-1995) and reprised his role as Bat Masterson in the TV movie "The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw" (1991).
